Tips for leading your child to Christ

How to lead your kids to ChristIn this day in age our children are growing up in an increasingly secularized world. From calls to remove “in one nation under God” from the pledge of allegiance in public schools to the peer pressure and stigma attached to “Jesus lovers” at school, it’s no surprise that our kids are showing less interest in Jesus.

This is why it’s becoming increasing more important for us to help lead our kids to Christ and help them build a relationship with Jesus. The religious development that our children experience today will stick with them for the rest of their lives.

“Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.”
(Luke 18:17 ESV) Continue Reading »

Get a Free Christmas Lesson for your Youth Ministry

Our brothers at ym360 are celebrating Christmas a little early this year by sharing a free Christmas lesson for you ministry.  That ma

y not seem like a big deal since there are a lot of  free resources online, but since ym360′s content generally requires a premium price this is a treat.
It does require a short quick form to fill out to help you get plugged into the ym360 community, such as your email and to help them hone their website and content.

The content is very holistic.  It comes with ideas for icebreakers/activities that are fun and even have a twist to it, a lesson, an application and Biblical relevancy as well.  Think of a reverse white elephant where the emphasis is on giving.

It is centered around the nativity story and the miracle birth of Jesus.  They relate and are connected as the lesson explains the great gift God gives humanity through his son, Jesus Christ and the joys of giving more than receiving.

Why you should stay involved in your child’s life

The decision to have children should be based on a commitment to yourself, the child’s other parent and to the child, and even though you may question “why should I be involved in my child’s life?”
Development of values, morals and God all depend  on it. Parents who do not have the commitment necessary may need to re-evaluate their own priorities before it is too late. Continue Reading »

Holiday games and resources for Youth Groups

At KBC we always encourage the building of relationships with youth groups.  We have compiled a list of  youth ministry resources to help nourish and build up those in your lives.

Pastor2Youth

This website is a blog and forum maintained by a current student at Fuller Seminary.  There’s a forum that is pretty active as well as newsletter and regular updates.  He includes a lot of his own personal work such as papers.  There is also a place to exchange resources that hasn’t quite filled out yet.  But the reason this made the list is because of its nice list of games.  I read a few of the games and seem very engaging, and made to make memories.
